Neymar ready for Champions League

Brazil and Paris Saint Germain striker Neymar said that he is impatient to play in the Champions League with his new club.


The Brazilian striker said that he signed for Paris Saint Germain in order to have a new challenge and that he is looking forward to help his team win the Champions League this time around.

He said that there are some good players in this team and that there is no doubt that Paris Saint Germain has the potential to win this trophy. He said that he has adapted well in the team and that he is enjoying himself on the pitch.

To the contrary of what many people believe, he did not sign for Paris Saint Germain because of money as he is genuinely interested to help the team win trophies.

He said that Paris Saint Germain has a formidable fan base and that they deserved to win something big. He said that there is nothing better than the Champions League in club football and that he would do everything he can in order to help the team achieves their objective. Read more »

CLAIREFONTAINE ACADEMY CLOCKS 30 IN 2018

Next year would see Clairefontaine academy clock thirty years, and 2018 holds the promises of a befitting anniversary celebration.


The academy has really done a lot, especially as they have continued to produce generations of incredible France international talent.

The Montjoye castle which is located almost 30 miles outside of Paris and in the depths of a forest is a renovated 17th century building with five-star facilities.

It houses the Clairefontaine project, a brainchild of French Football Federation President FernandSastre. This academy was inaugurated in 1988 by President Francois Mitterand.

In no more than a decade, France led by some of Clairefontainefinest graduands such as Thierry Henry won the World Cup.

In no time, they followed it up with a Euro 2000 success while also adding final appearances in both the 2006 World Cup and the Euro 2016 as well.

Former Liverpool manager, Gerard Houllier, who in the early 1990’s worked within the Federation,had something to say about the academy.

“Those buildings are more than a fantastic tool. They are a cornerstone, a vision, a philosophy, a place of unity. When they opened, we could not imagine the role this place would play ten years later.” Read more »

PSG THRASH MONACO 5-0

Paris Saint Germain defeated their rivals Monaco 5-0 as both sides clashed in the French Coupe de France semi finals.


The giants booked a final with Angers, a game they are expected to win and lift the title.

The result leaves them clear for a treble this season, despite all the stumbles. Monaco would now have to intensity their Ligue 1 chase and Champions League ambitions. These competitions probably forced Leonardo Jardim to rest his best legs in midfielder TiemoueBakayoko, academy product Almamy Toure and teenage sensation KylianMbappe.

Unai Emery Unhappy with Tactical Show against Monaco

Paris St Germain suffered a shock 3-1 loss against Monaco in the league to lose their 100% start to the season.


The team had managed wins from the opening two games as expected. As the strongest team in the French league by quite a long distance, Paris St Germain are realistically targeting the Champions League in order to gauge the performances of new manager Unai Emery. The former Sevilla boss was brought in as the replacement for Laurent Blanc. After achieving three consecutive Europa League titles with the Spanish club,Emery was seen as the perfect candidate to get European success to the French capital.

Emery already has a tough job on his hands to replace star forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The Swedish striker has been the face of PSG for the last few years, but he has joined Manchester United on a free transfer. Even though he has a ready-made replacement in the form of Edinson Cavani, it is widely perceived that the Uruguay striker is not at the same level as Ibrahimovic. PSG have also not made significant inroads into the transfer market due to financial fair play issues with UEFA. PSG were reasonably good in pre-season, but they were shocking against Monaco.

Paris St Germain continued their good pre-season form with a 3-1 win over Real Madrid and manager Unai Emery was extremely pleased with the outcome.


He once again stressed the fact that pre-season games were all about getting the fitness right in time for the new season. As defending champions of the French league for the last few seasons, PSG have a lot of live up to under the new management.Emery has been brought in specifically to help the club achieve the glory of winning the Champions League. After all, he is the manager has lifted several European titles in the last few years.

Emery has won the UEFA Europa League for the last three seasons in succession with Sevilla. This has been a tremendous achievement on behalf of the manager, who has largely spent his managerial career in Spanish football with the likes of Almeria and Valencia. His most iconic from outside Spain was being the manager of Spartak Moscow in 2012. However, this was a failed to move in many ways andEmery has to prove himself that he can manage outside Spanish football.
