PSG WANT TO EXTEND LIONEL MESSI’S CONTRACT AMID INTEREST FROM BARCA AND MLS

Star footballer Lionel Messi is said to have impressed Paris Saint-Germain, who are reportedly ready to extend his current deal. But FC Barcelona will move to lure their footballer back to the Camp Nou, and there joining in this tug of war is a Major League Soccer (MLS) club, reported SBNation. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano said that PSG’s manager Christophe Galtier and their director Luis Campos, are “in love” with Messi.

The Argentine star, 35, had a difficult first season adapting to life in Paris. He suffered injuries and bouts with Covid. But he is back to his old self and doing well for PSG, and that’s why the French champions are already discussing with Messi’s entourage to keep him at the club for one or two more seasons. But Barcelona’s President Joan Laporta is also said to be crazy about bringing Messi back into the club after his exit last year. Laporta reportedly wants to clear up misunderstandings between him and Messi’s camp and welcome him back to the club.

As for the MLS club, the name has not been revealed, but in the past the rumored destination has been Inter Miami, which is co-owned by David Beckham. In the past, Messi holidayed in Florida, and the team thinks that they could convince him to spend his final years impressing crowds in the U.S. But it is said that Messi’s reply to PSG, Barcelona and the unnamed MLS club was the same. He reportedly told them that he is not making a decision until at least the end of the FIFA World Cup, which will conclude in December.

Messi’s biggest desire is said to be to win the World Cup with his beloved Argentina. This year’s tournament in Qatar could be his final opportunity. Meanwhile, it’s been reported that Messi will re-join Barcelona when his current contract with PSG expires next year, according to Givemesport.
