NEYMAR OFFERED IN BID FOR MIDFIELDER
Paris Saint Germain (PSG) are reportedly keen to let Brazilian superstar Neymar leave the club in their bid to beat other interested teams in the race for Barcelona midfielder Frenkie De Jong.
Spanish outlet El Nacional revealed the interest of PSG in De Jong. It was stated that PSG are still keen on the ex-Ajax Amsterdam midfielder having tried and failed to sign him when he left Ajax Amsterdam for the Nou Camp two years ago.
De Jong, 24, left Ajax for Barcelona in the summer of 2019. The Catalan giants paid €86m to sign him from the Dutch champions. Since his move to Barcelona, De Jong has had his moments at the club but he has not reached the level he attained at Ajax Amsterdam when he played a big role in getting the Dutch team to the semi-finals before they were eliminated by London team Tottenham Hotspur via the away goals rule.
The aforementioned media portal stated that PSG are prepared to include Neymar in any deal for De Jong, though his weekly wages would be a big problem since Barcelona are in a financial crisis at the moment. The decision on the sale of De Jong has not been made, but the club knows that the midfielder can fetch them a lot of money in the quest to give new manager Xavi Hernandez the quality players needed to turn things around at the Nou Camp.
