PSG CHASE MODRIC

Former Chelsea and AC Milan manager Carlo Ancelotti has said that he would be extremely delighted to bring in Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric, who has been linked with a move away from the Premier league club in the summer. The PSG manager has made a lot of important transfer signings this summer with the arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva from AC Milan. They are expected to massively improve the defence and attack of the team, but the former Chelsea manager is not satisfied yet with his signings in the summer. He is determined to bring in another creative midfielder who will provide a spark to the team.

Even though Real Madrid have been the favourites to sign Luka Modric from Tottenham in the summer, there is a good chance that French club PSG could become the surprise destination for the Croatian midfielder. Luka Modric was one of the surprise packages of the Euro 2012. He came extremely close to leaving Tottenham last summer for £ 40 million, but it is thought that he is expected to cost only around £ 35 million this time around. The 26-year-old is extremely versatile and can play in a number of positions across the middle of the park.

“I did not need to see him at the Euro to know how much talent he has. I knew his capabilities before. Now he has confirmed his high quality for those who did not know. I know that is what matters most now, but I am sorry to disappoint you. I cannot speak publicly about the transfer market. You have to understand that it would be foolish of me to speak openly about our objectives and movements in relation to quality players,” said the Italian. Modric could earn around £ 200,000 per week if he signs for PSG.
