PSG CAN BE BIGGER THAN REAL

The new Paris St Germain defender Gregory van der Wiel has said that the French club have the ability to become as big as Real Madrid in the future. The 24-year-old former Ajax player has been tracked by some of the biggest clubs in the world for the last few years. However, recently sealed the move to the French club PSG, who are yet to win any major title on the international front. However, PSG have been able to make some high profile players come to the club in this transfer window and Gregory van der Wiel is one among them.

The player has signed a four-year deal with the club and it is expected that they will be utilised straightaway into the first-team. He has cost the club around £ 5 million, which is relatively cheap when considering the amount they have spent on the players like Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Real Madrid are easily the biggest club in the world after having lifted nine Champions League titles till date, an achievement that has not been matched by any club. It is quite possible that the player could make his debut for the team in the match against Toulouse during the weekend.

“Paris Saint-Germain can become as big a club as Real Madrid. They want to make it to the absolute top, win the Ligue 1 title and compete for top honours in Europe. I am very pleased to be part of this project. They are very ambitious and want to win trophies. I was looking for a new challenge and we can achieve something unique here. And it’s obviously fantastic to play alongside a star like Zlatan Ibrahimovic,” said the player after his arrival at the club. PSG have made a poor start to the season.
