DEFENDING IS DSIAPPOINTING

The manager of Paris Saint Germain, Carlo Ancelotti, has said that he is disappointed with the performance of the defenders in the Coupe De France match against Arras. Although, PSG came out victorious in that match but, they didn’t manage to win the match in a convincing manner. PSG won the match by a close margin of 4-3.

Ezequiel Lavezzi, Blaise Matuidi and Zoumana Camara were the goal scorers for PSG in the match against Arras. Lavezzi scored two goals.

Talking to the reporters in the press conference after the match, Ancelotti said, “winning is always nice, but, I am a bit disappointed with the margin of the victory. We should have won the match with a bigger margin. We got a pretty good start, but, towards the end, we gave them some easy opportunities which we shouldn’t have done. The performance of the defenders was below par today.”

“Our defenders had performed brilliantly in the last four matches and we hadn’t conceded even a single goal in those matches. But, today was not their day and they struggled.”

“However, the strikers did wonderfully well. They put Arras under a lot of pressure in the beginning.”

When asked if PSG management is interested in buying Mario Balotelli, Ancelotti said, “No, we are not planning to sign Balotelli. He is a great player and he has done well for Manchester City, but, we don’t need him at this point of time. We already have some fantastic attacking options available and we are not looking for any more strikers at the moment.”

There had been a few reports that Balotelli wants to leave Manchester City because of his issues with Roberto Mancini and PSG has shown interest in him. But, Ancelotti’s statement suggests that those reports were just rumours.
