SAHA DELIGHTED WITH START

Tottenham striker Louis Saha has said that he is extremely delighted at the opportunity to score on his debut for his new club. Tottenham signed Louis Saha on the final day of the January transfer window from Everton.

Even though it was viewed as an insignificant transfer given that Louis Saha has sustained a number of injury problems over the last few months, but the French striker made a memorable debut in the match against Newcastle United. Tottenham thrashed Newcastle 5-0 in the match following the January transfer window. Louis Saha not only secured his debut goal, but also completed a brace in the match.

This huge score not only helped Tottenham keep Chelsea and Arsenal at bay, but also helped them move a little bit closer towards the prospect of once again challenging Manchester City and Manchester United. Following their defeat at the hands of Manchester City a few weeks ago, the title challenge of Tottenham was all but written off. However, the recent results coupled with the arrival of new players in the January transfer window is once again expected to spur Tottenham on. The 33-year-old French striker is not expected to get a lot of opportunities considering the presence of Emmanuel Adebayor, but he can expect Harry Redknapp to select him regularly if he keeps on scoring.

“It was a great, great feeling. I am not that young, but it’s just like I was living the dream of a young boy – to make your debut and score on your home ground, it’s just amazing,” he told reporters. The Frenchman also praised manager Harry Redknapp by saying that he is one of the best managers he has worked with. Harry Redknapp is in contention for the position of the England manager after Fabio Capello announced his resignation.
