PSG WON’T MOVE FOR COLE

French club Paris St Germain will not be making a move for the Chelsea defender Ashley Cole according to their manager Carlo Ancelotti. There have been recent reports that the former Chelsea manager is very much interested in being reunited with both Steven Gerrard and the former Arsenal defender.

Carlo Ancelotti had two successful years at Chelsea during which time he also got the best out of Ashley Cole. It was during his spell at Stamford Bridge that Ashley Cole truly became one of the best in the world. Due to the fact that the 31-year-old has only one season left on his current deal, he has been linked with a move abroad.

Chelsea are yet to begin contract negotiations with the player. The 31-year-old is reportedly demanding around £ 200,000 per week in order to sign a new deal, but it is thought that the manager and the club believe that Bertrand can be of possible replacement. As a result, they are ready to not to be held hostage by the wage demands of the former Arsenal defender. Hence, there has been speculation that he might be sold in the summer transfer window. Carlo Ancelotti, though, has rejected this speculation by saying that the club’s activity in the transfer window is over.

“The transfer window is over for us. The club did a good job. All the news from England (about Cole) are just rumours,” Ancelotti told Abola. PSG have secured the signing of high profile players like Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva. The Brazilian defender, by far, is expected to be the biggest reason why PSG will be a major force in the Champions League this season. The club have made it a priority to do well in the European competition this season. They are even prepared to take the league title for granted.
