Paris St Germain continued their good pre-season form with a 3-1

Paris St Germain continued their good pre-season form with a 3-1 win over Real Madrid and manager Unai Emery was extremely pleased with the outcome.

He once again stressed the fact that pre-season games were all about getting the fitness right in time for the new season. As defending champions of the French league for the last few seasons, PSG have a lot of live up to under the new management.Emery has been brought in specifically to help the club achieve the glory of winning the Champions League. After all, he is the manager has lifted several European titles in the last few years.

Emery has won the UEFA Europa League for the last three seasons in succession with Sevilla. This has been a tremendous achievement on behalf of the manager, who has largely spent his managerial career in Spanish football with the likes of Almeria and Valencia. His most iconic from outside Spain was being the manager of Spartak Moscow in 2012. However, this was a failed to move in many ways andEmery has to prove himself that he can manage outside Spanish football. Facing a Real Madrid team looking to rejuvenate itself, PSG established a 3-0 lead within the opening 40 minutes.

“Pre-season results logically depends on circumstances, you don’t always have some players. You can’t appreciate really well the game of any of the two teams.Today they returned to work, we won and we played in phases like we want. Of course Real Madrid are still lacking some things. PSG wants to do important things and find a dimension to fight against the best teams, I’m happy with the club and it is a challenge for all. We can’t value this match only with the result. Teams have to be ready for the competition and PSG and Real Madrid are working,” said Emery.
